Texture Analysis of Lung Cell Morphology

Working with Dr. Joshua Peeples and Prof. Christie Sayes, I studied the relationship between morphological imaging metrics — lacunarity and fractal dimension — and dendritic cell sensitization after nanoparticle exposure. I quantified differences in cellular texture using Earth Mover’s Distance and implemented a novel Quantization and Counting Operator (QCO) for statistical texture analysis, capturing spatial co-occurrence relationships in SEM images.
